CooVar Patent Knotting

Coo-Var Patent Knotting is a low viscosity shellac based product. Use on knotted or resinous wood to prevent staining of future paint films. Patent knotting, also known as knotting solution or knot sealer, is a shellac-based solution used to seal knots in wood. It prevents the resin or sap from bleeding through the paint or varnish, ensuring a smooth and blemish-free finish.

Why do I need to use patent knotting on wood knots?

Wood knots can exude resin or sap over time, which can bleed through paint or varnish, causing discoloration and imperfections. Using patent knotting seals the knots, preventing this bleed-through and ensuring a long-lasting, clean finish.
